Important News

We are currently planning a hybrid Festival with a mix of live, live streamed, recorded and virtual events from 27 May – 5 June 2021. If the government’s Roadmap goes to plan and the four conditions are met, our venues will start to reopen from 17 May and we plan to host live Festival events.

All tickets now on sale!

We make every effort to ensure that our events are accessible for our audience and use a range of city venues.

Derby Book Festival takes place in several venues across the city, each with different facilities and access provisions. We work closely with our partner venues to ensure we obtain the right information from you when you book tickets to Festival events so that we can meet your needs. Most of our venues have lifts or wheelchair ramps and spaces where wheelchairs can be located within the theatre or studio.

You can find further information about accessibility on the websites of each of our partners or directly through their box offices.

We also work with Communication Unlimited to present BSL integrated events. For every event where we are providing an interpreter you'll find this logo:

If there is an event you would like to attend but an interpreter is not listed, please email us at or contact Communication Unlimited directly. We will attempt to provide an interpreter if possible.
