Love reading? Enjoy sharing ideas in a small, friendly group setting? Shared Reading could be a perfect fit for you! 

We're looking for warm, welcoming volunteers to lead our popular Shared Reading groups across Derby. No experience? No problem! We’ll give you full training and connect you with a friendly community of fellow volunteers. 

You’ll always work with others and it’s flexible to fit in around your availability.

With Shared Reading becoming increasingly popular as a way to enjoy a sense of community, discover new writers and share ideas, we are looking to welcome more Shared Reading volunteers to our friendly team.

Shared Reading groups meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly throughout the year, in a variety of settings and online. Group participants say that taking part in Shared Reading boosts their self confidence and helps them to feel connected to others.

It is simple yet powerful - We read aloud, then reflect and talk over any feelings and ideas that emerge. Conversations often blossom into something else entirely … and that’s great! Shared Reading sows the seeds of connection.
