Just off Market Square in Nottingham is a door to a hidden gem - Bromley House Library and its walled garden. Climb the stairs to discover three floors of book-lined Georgian loveliness, many original features and some Victorian additions, such as a unique spiral staircase, gallery and one of the UK’s four surviving Meridian Lines. Bromley House was built in 1752 as a family home and has been a library for over 200 years, It remains a thriving members’ subscription library with nearly fifty thousand books on its shelves. Matt Dolman, Development Manager, will give you a glimpse inside the library and a flavour of its historic past and lively present.
