Whilst you can’t join us at live Festival events, we are sharing some exciting interviews with a few of the great authors who were scheduled to join us in June.

We had such an exciting and varied Festival programme to share with you for our main Festival in 2020 with 105 events. We are so disappointed that we were unable to hold the Festival, but are currently working with venue partners in the city, authors and publishers to reschedule as many events as we can for later in the year.

In the meantime we have recorded interviews with some of the authors to give you a taster of what you can look forward. It will hopefully introduce you to new authors, whose work you may not know, and inspire you to read their work in preparation for meeting them.

We were also included in the online Big Book Weekend, from 8 – 10 May. You can watch this virtual Festival, curated by authors Kit de Waal and Molly Flat, as part of the BBC’s Culture in Quarantine series and hosted by My VLF. Our event is with debut authors, Louise Hare and Beth Morrey, both of whom were featured in The Observer’s 10 best debut novelists of 2020.
