Steve Orme is an award-winning journalist. He worked on newspapers and magazines before moving into radio and television and has been fascinated with crime ever since he attended magistrates’ courts as a cub reporter.

After watching crime series on television, Steve decided to enter a competition called Search For a New Crime Writer on the Alibi TV channel. He reached the final and a new career beckoned. He has written two crime novels, Storm Deaths and Storm Bodies, and is working on a third.

Steve is also a playwright. His first stage play, What’s Your Poison?, about the Victorian serial killer Dr William Palmer from Staffordshire who was also known as the Rugeley Poisoner, toured the UK in 2023.
