Derby Book Festival has teamed up with the Society of Authors, Derby Libraries and Derbyshire Library Service to organise a series of talks by local authors in libraries across the city and county. Introduction to worldbuilding, including place, timelines, cultures, flora and fauna, magic or technology. The session includes pair work, writing practice and quizzes.

Outcomes: To build skill and knowledge on worldbuilding, and gain confidence as a writer

Ian C Douglas is a resident of Nottingham close to the city centre, and is the award-winning author of the Zeke Hailey sci-fi novels. He is prolific writer of sci-fi and fantasy short stories, as well as being a Left Lion editor.
