Niall Hickman spent over 30 years in sports journalism with Sky Sports, ITV, the Daily Mail and Daily Express.
During that time he ghost-wrote two boxing autobiographies of former world champions Ricky Hatton and Carl Froch. He joined the University of Derby in 2017 and has overseen many graduates entering into the world of sports reporting.
He has just completed his third book, a History of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club as it prepares to celebrate its 150th anniversary next year. The book focuses on the legendary names which have made Wolves one of the most famous clubs in the land and there is particular emphasis on the growth of women’s football in the city.
CivicLAB is based at the University of Derby. The city is a UNESCO City of Life Long Learning and home to World Heritage Sites. CivicLAB has been designed to support academics, creative & cultural industry professionals, freelance creatives and the public to share their insights on research and practice through a place-based approach to knowledge generation.
