Julia joined us at last year's Festival when she gave us a fascinating talk on The Little History of Derbyshire.  She has written historical non-fiction for several publishers and will be sharing some of her writing techniques.

Julia will help you choose your topic and key research tools needed when writing historical non-fiction.  You will explore the skills and techniques necessary to creating works of historical non-fiction, including writing approach, style and the need to make events and characters understandable to modern readers, fact checking and the importance of editing.
