We are currently planning a hybrid Festival with a mix of live, live streamed, recorded and virtual events from 27 May – 5 June 2021. If the government’s Roadmap goes to plan and the four conditions are met, our venues will start to reopen from 17 May and we plan to host live Festival events.

Children’s Poetry Writing Workshop

For ages 6 - 10 and their parents

A fun session with Derby poet Les Baynton, performing poems and creating Dragons and Giant poems together, as well as natural themes.

He will explain how his books are created with his illustrator, followed by some readings of his poems. He will then create a group poem together using the children's ideas.

Les's illustrated poetry books will be on sale at £3 each.

There are two dates to choose from at two different parks:

Markeaton Park - Tuesday 1 June in the Craft Village

2 - 2.45pm

Alvaston Park - Thursday 3 June in the Community building courtyard

2 - 2.45pm

Please note: You must book in advance.

Parents/carers will need a ticket as well as each child attending. Parents/carers will be required to supervise their children in the session.

Children will be seated on the floor in front of him, so parents are asked to bring a rug or cushion for them to sit on and a fold up chair for themselves.

Please complete a seperate order for each bubble/ household so that we can seat you appropriately.
