Important News

We are currently planning a hybrid Festival with a mix of live, live streamed, recorded and virtual events from 27 May – 5 June 2021. If the government’s Roadmap goes to plan and the four conditions are met, our venues will start to reopen from 17 May and we plan to host live Festival events.

Bird Watching Walk with Mark Cocker

Saturday 05 June | 11am - 1pm

£20 Venue: Willington Gravel Pits, DE65 6YB

Park at height barrier at the Reserve entrance on Meadow Lane, just off Willington Road. Turn right 100m after St Michael's Church in the village centre. Meadow Lane lies 100m before the bridge over the River Trent; if you cross it you've missed the Reserve! Extra free parking by the church. Bring binoculars, wet-weather boots and walking stick in case of muddy tracks.

Join prize-winning nature writer Mark Cocker for a walk on the wild side at Willington Gravel Pits. This Derbyshire Wildlife Trust reserve, just six miles south of Derby, will be bursting with the spring chorus at this point in the season and is a perfect place to get on intimate terms with wetland and woodland birds of all kinds.
