Celebration in the Cathedral - Sir Peter Bazalgette, Chair of the Arts Council England and James Naughtie with The Bookshop Band

7:15pm - 8:45pm - Friday 10 June

Derby Cathedral, DE1 3GP

Join us for a special celebratory evening in Derby Cathedral with James Naughtie, one of Britain’s most respected broadcasters and Sir Peter Bazalgette, Chair of Arts Council England. They will be joined by The Bookshop Band.

At our first Festival James, or Jim as he is popularly known, recorded an episode of Radio 4 Bookclub and spoke about his debut novel The Madness of July. This year he returns for a conversation with Sir Peter and to talk about his second novel Paris Spring. Sir Peter, or Baz as he is popularly known, will talk to Jim about the arts and culture and his belief in their importance, his time at Arts Council England and the challenges of his new role as non-executive chairman of ITV which he will take up in January 2017.

Jim will talk to Baz about his life with books - as presenter of Radio 4 Bookclub, BBC News Books Editor and author.

The Bookshop Band, who write songs inspired by books, will punctuate the conversation with songs and music.
