Now the dust has started to settle, we want to thank all our subscribers for their support.
We are getting the final figures in from our partner venues and from Waterstones, but early indications are that ticket sales are up from 4030 in 2016 to over 4750 in 2017! That’s an increase of around 18%, which we are thrilled about!
Very special thanks are due to:
- all our Festival partners for the use of their wonderful venues, for their advice and support
- Waterstones and Blackwells for providing our book sales
- our media partners, Codemakers, WDA and Status Social for their marketing and PR support
- our army of dedicated volunteers who made every event run so smoothly.
Initial feedback suggests that this year’s highlights were Alan Johnson and Matthew Parris (pictured above just before going on stage), Sebastian Faulks, Sarah Perry, John McAvoy, Paula Byrne and our closing event with Dave McKean. But we are sure you will have your own highlights and memories.
Do let us know what your favourites were, as well as any ideas for next year’s Festival, by posting on Facebook and Twitter.
Please let us have your feedback
We really want to know what you thought of the events you attended as we want to make next year’s Festival even better. Please complete our online questionnaire by Sunday 2 July so you can be entered into our prize draw for a £25 Waterstones’ Book Token – it takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
Thank you to our volunteers
Derby Book Festival could not take place without our 80 volunteers whose enthusiasm and commitment shines through at every event. Last night we were delighted to see so many of them at our special thank you event in the Roundhouse, where they shared their experiences and thoughts about this year’s Festiival.
If you are interested in being a volunteer at next year’s Festival, we will be recruiting again later in the year.
