We hate cancelling events and do our utmost to avoid it, though it isn’t always possible. Sometimes we are able to postpone or find a suitable replacement event.
We are delighted that this year we have secured Alison Smith MBE to run two sewing events in Déda on Sunday 2 June. Karen Ball had been scheduled to run two similar events but had to pull out. Déda’s staff will be contacting everyone who has previously booked for Karen’s events.
Alison is internationally renowned in the sewing world and runs The School of Sewing in Ashby de la Zouch. The Sewing Book has sold more copies than any other sewing book worldwide and is the ultimate sewing bible for beginners, students and seasoned stitchers who want to perfect their skills. Tucks, pleats, hems, darts, edges, pockets, buttonholes, zips – whatever you want to sew, find out how! Whether you want to make soft furnishings, clothing or just do alterations, this is the book that everyone interested in sewing needs.
Every hand and machine stitch and technique is clearly shown and easy to follow, guiding you through every move. Follow ten new stylish projects, for the home and to wear, which will enable you to take your sewing skills to perfection.
Alison will talk about The Sewing Book at an event from 2 – 2.55pm on Sunday 2 June and will run a Hand Stitching Workshop from 4 – 4.55pm. You can find full details of both events on the website and can book online or at Déda.
