Introducing our Festival Director

7th September 2017

We are delighted to welcome Theresa Keogh, our first Festival Director, to the Derby Book Festival team.  Theresa was born and educated in Derby, having attended St Benedict’s School before undertaking an English degree at the University of Birmingham.  She went on to study for an MA in Scriptwriting at De Montfort University.

Theresa has an exciting background as an arts professional with a focus on writing and community engagement.  The Associate Director at New Perspectives Theatre Company, Theresa has worked both locally and nationally creating, managing and programming work with a multitude of arts organisations including City Arts, Young Vic, Nottingham Lakeside Arts, Nottingham Theatre Royal and Curve.

We are really looking forward to working with Theresa as we take the Festival to its next stage of development.

Re-live the 2017 Festival
Local web design firm, Codemakers, have been busy updating our website with images and recordings from this year’s Festival and also adding some exciting statistics about this year’s events.

This year we had three talented and highly professional Festival photographers attending events to capture the highlights.  Many thanks (for the third year) to Kim Gribbon of Bonbon Photography (aka The Gribbons) as well as to Simon at Jakt Photography and our wonderful and generous Festival volunteer, Cate Buxton.
